Easter Eggs

Happy Easter! Our schedule has been pretty tight, so today was the best opportunity to sit with Madison and color some Easter Eggs! This was her first real attempt at making some Easter Eggs, and she had a very good time doing it. You can tell when she's really into something: she has that intense look on her face, concentrating on what she's doing. We started out with the Easter Egg dye: about six different colors. You can see her dipping her eggs in the different plastic baskets filled with colors, watching the eggs change from white to blue. Daddy had some Disney spring time music playing, and as Madison was dipping her eggs, he was getting out the packages of Tinker Bell and Kai-Lan stickers, which got a big smile.

Another thing we found were some stamps that were stored in our Easter tub from last year. Actually, Daddy has been saving up all kinds of Easter packages for a few years now, so it was easy to just go downstairs and take a look to see what we have. In fact, we've got stuff for next year just in case we can't get out to the store for some reason. All we need are eggs. Speaking of which, Madison clearly does not like hard-boiled eggs. Mommy took one of our dozen eggs, and we decided to give it a taste test. Madison didn't like it at all!

Fortunately, she does like decorating eggs. She kept using the stampers, and adding patterns of flowers and hearts on her eggs, and also adding the stickers too. We spent well over an hour there, quietly decorating our eggs. Madison was really enjoying the stamper a lot, that is, until she noticed the small paint brush. That's the point where all time stopped, and she became obsessed with completely painting an egg purple.

It was a great morning to spend time decorating eggs. We'll be busy the rest of the day, so I'm glad we got a chance to do it. Tonight, we'll be back at our final play practice - the big production starts tomorrow, on Good Friday. Madison will be with us late again, so it'll be time for a nap soon. On top of that, Madison really slept in again this morning. She'll have a good time tonight, but we want to make sure she's well rested. And Mommy and Daddy wanted to make sure she had time to make her eggs too. Later on, Daddy will try to get her basket together: we've been gathering items for it. Easter Sunday is going to be huge, with lots going on. After doing the Easter play two final times, we'll head over to Ye-Ye and Nana's house to spend some time with the family. There'll be an Easter Egg hunt, baskets galore, and of course a big meal together. Easter is coming a little early this year, but it'll be a great day - in fact, I'm fairly certain the Easter Bunny is coming back again!
