Tonight we saw the most recent 2025 "Fantastic Four" movie, with a subtitle, "First Steps." This seems appropriate, as the movie actually featured Franklin, the son of Reed and Sue. The four of us got to the theater tonight, a fantastic foursome already, and had out seats in the back row, ready for yet another bit of Marvel mayhem. The final review: all four of us really liked this movie. It is such a positive movie, a family movie in that there is a family of characters and they have a deep love for one another. Another fantastic thing about the movie is that it includes Galactus, not as a cloud, but as an actual celestial giant. He's made himself smaller for the final confrontation, although still towering over the skyscrapers in the city there. It's a difficult thing battling a fairly indestructible giant celestial, but the movie did a great job with this entire sequence, and it did well throughout. I was a huge fan of the optics, the 60's futurism present throughout - it was as if we were inside a comic book from that era. I think a lot of that has been missing lately, the sort of heroism found from that time in history. While the edgy heroes have their place, the market is somewhat flooded with that sort of characteristic, and therefore this sort of team is a breath of fresh air. Anyway, we liked the movie a good bit.
Maddie enjoyed sitting with Nate tonight, and of course afterwards we were at home, pretty much ready for bed. It was a late night. Movies are half-price on Tuesdays though, and that's pretty awesome. We saved like $35 tonight.
We've been working on our new series at KidPak, the one for September. But we're also working on this weekend and the next for our current series. Still so much to do, but we're knocking things out one thing at a time on the ol' checklist.
Mom was at home doing a lot of cleaning today, getting the dining room emptied out so that we could perhaps have some furniture in there soon. We've also been getting the basement cleaned up too, one section at a time. There is a lot more space to walk around in lately. One fun thing I did was get Maddie's new "Loki" movie poster in a frame and hung up on the wall. It was the last thing we got from Disney Movie Rewards, and it looks great up there on Maddie's wall. Gone is Wonder Woman. Say hello to Loki.
Tonight we were reading, although shortly. And after that, it was time for prayers and bed. It's been a fantastic day!
