It was taekwondo night tonight, and everything is moving along after the big competition, moving along with a much more relaxed pace right now. Students are training hard, but that gas pedal is not pressed so hard right now, and it's good to see everyone chilling. There's sparring and learning, and in fact there's going to be another testing in month or so, but the last few months have had so much going on that it's good to see everyone pulling back a little bit on the intensity.
So it's been another rainy day, but this is it for the rain from what I understand. In fact, there's another one of those heat domes here, and that's going to result in hot and dry weather, and that's not as much fun, although the trees are more than likely grateful not to get blown over any more. The rainstorms have been much stronger this season for certain.
Can you believe we're still catching squirrels? We're at an absurd number of transplants, but the truth is that they just won't stop knocking things down - it's part of their nature. Squirrels can be downright mischievous!
Okay, so that's about it for the day here. Of course I was at work - we're doing a lot towards Summer Xtreme, and pretty much wrapping up our booklet for that and the booklet for July's series too. We've had some big meetings, but we're also doing some editing and writing and all kinds of stuff. Some big changes upcoming soon too, stuff we'll be talking about soon.
Tonight we watched the new live-action "Snow White," and it was as we thought it would be: okay. I actually like the ending of the original animated movie better, oddly enough, although there were certain things in this version that were good ideas. There were bad ideas too, but I won't go down that road. I think it was just casting. And maybe certain bits of CGI. And the whole ending. Maddie said afterwards that she wants her two hours back. Sorry, Maddie!
We continued reading before bedtime tonight with more from "Guards! Guards!" It's building up, and I'm remembering this one as we move along - this was a good one. Maddie will like this one and won't want her time back after hearing it. The City Watch series is probably my favorite of the Discworld books.
After that, prayers. It was time to get some sleep. I've got the sniffles!
