Maddie's last school art exhibit - at least for public schools. She had her fish design exhibited at the FoCAL Center in Cumming, just like previous things she's had there before, so tonight I got home a bit early so we could head over there to walk around and check out her artwork there, along with the many other things. There are some super talented artists in Forsyth County, and some fun pieces. I took pictures of many of them as I was walking by, impressed by the talent and creativity!
It was a quiet but cold day otherwise. Maddie got her new computer and that's exciting. We had to get a new computer because she's taking a SAT test, and the CollegeBoard people like to put up as many obstacles to success as they can, the end result being we spent nearly another thousand dollars on a computer just so she can take this test. In the olden days, all you needed to take a test was a pencil, and I think they even provided those. Now, it requires an amazingly complicated registration process, and new computer. No problem!
In honor of the final voyage of the SS United States, we watched an old Disney movie tonight that I've had on my mind this week, a movie called "Bon Voyage!" It stars Fred MacMurray, who takes his family on a voyage on that same boat mentioned above, going to France for a short vacation. There were fleeting moments here or there, but Mom and I thought the movie was a bit too long, repeating a lot of themes with family characters making odd decisions or doing weird things. It was pleasant, but long. Glad we just rented the movie. Maddie wasn't watching at all, and that's okay - she was studying for math, and that's good. She's got just a few more months to go there.
Anyway, moving on, it was a full day. I finished a booklet today for Exodus, and that's a load off. We had meetings for KidPak and for Easter, both of them pretty big. It was a good day today. We read tonight, and we said our prayers, and then it was off to sleep.
Before I go though... check out this Valentine's Day gift from Mom! She got me a cat clock for the office, and we have it hanging up now, looking at us!
