Nunchucks and FCY

Slightly busy night with traveling to and fro.  We brought Maddie over to taekwondo for a quick demo with Team Edge.  She and the rest of the team were there to do the routine they've been practicing in front of a bigger audience, and the younger students watching were thrilled.  Maddie's doing great with the nunchucks.  You can see her above, tossing them upward, ready for another strike.

Afterwards, it was time for FCY.  Emma was there too, as you can see above.  Maddie enjoyed tonight's events, while Mom and I were at home making some rather spontaneous arrangements for next week.  Let's just say we're doing our Christmas dreaming a little early this year.  More on that later - how's that for a teaser?

We watched the final episode of season one's "X-Men '97," and the ground covered is all so familiar.  These stories are based loosely on a lot the comics I read when I was much younger, so it's neat to see them come to life, somewhat.  There was certainly a conclusion to the current story line... however there was quite the cliffhanger.  We'll have to wait and see, but it's been good.  Still miss Gambit though.  You hear me, "X-Men '97"?  You can't do that to my favorite super hero!

Moving on.  It was a good day over all.  Maddie has just a few days left of being a junior in high school.  The next two days should be fairly quiet as things settle down at the end.  Just one more big test and that's actually on Monday.  Earlier, I thought it was Thursday, but we're good!

Anyway, tonight we read from our current story which is a bit longer.  But it's the story of the origin of Rogue Squadron, how Wedge got his group together for the first time.

These are the original star fighters, an epic team we used to play a long time ago... let's just say it was about the same time I was collecting those comics above.  Anyway, we didn't quite finish the story, but we'll pick it up again tomorrow.  It was time for prayers, and time for bed.  It was a good day!
