You can see Madison amongst the chaos here, a family feud game where two next door neighbors in our community pitted one family versus another to see who would win a few different fun contests. We were filming this for KidPak this weekend, and you can see Dawn there to the left holding her camera, as she shot a lot of footage. But Madison was filming too.
And you can see here that I was filming too. This game below is a tic-tac-toe relay race that featured one family versus another. But we also had a frozen t-shirt game, where Mommy put a soaked t-shirt in the freezer for a few days, and both families raced to see who was the first to actually have someone put it on!
That was funny, as families were devising different strategies, including the "sitting on it" strategy, like a mother hen. Then there was the "start the truck up and put the t-shirt by the exhaust pipe" strategy. While both were effective, there was a clear winner in this contest. The tic-tac-toe game was a bit closer - we'll see this weekend on KidPak who wins, but the idea is to feature KidPak families playing games that can be reproduced at home. It's a fun idea, something simpler, and hopefully it will look good this weekend. Josh is currently editing this now. Madison, Dawn and I sent our footage to him to work with, and hopefully something came out as pretty fun.
Today Madison had her Zoom meeting - I had one earlier while I was at the car dealership. Madison's was probably more fun, as she loves that meeting. My meeting was a KidPak one, and the connection wasn't great there at the dealership, but the point is that we're moving forward, and hopefully we'll do well with KidPak's plans for this next series, "Wildfire." Have you seen the logo that Josh made for it?
This will appear with the games, the booklets, and the online material, including social media. We're moving forward with one series after another, back to our month-to-month format all of the sudden! This new series features our Tribes Wildfire series, which is really because we wanted to show those animated cartoons again. But the messages are from "Ladder 1:23," which we visited at KidPak a long time ago. It might have been 2010 when we did that series, a fire department themed series. We had grander ideas, but lately, there's been illnesses that have struck a little too closely, and we're using that "abundance of caution." In fact, Josh, Mommy and myself have had a little summer cold that we're keeping a close eye on. Josh and Mommy have already recovered from it, but Daddy is the last in line for this one, and it's somewhat lingering here. Yuk. It's not terrible, but given the world status today, it's still somewhat concerning. I'm being careful.
We had some storms today, these tiny things. The one this morning was this dot on the big map of Georgia. The entire map was empty of cloud cover, except this one little dot over our house. It was a lot of rain though, a steady and heavy downpour. And then it happened again later on that night! Needless to say, we didn't have to water our crops today.
The car was fine today, by the way. We're good to go if we take a trip. Also, Madison worked on her piano some today, and has been a little more on that lately, so that's good. Mommy has been packing for our trip upcoming, but we're waiting for me to get a little better before we make the trip. There's nothing to worry about as far as scheduling goes: school is a few weeks away, and there's no visiting the office right now.
Tonight we had just enough time after our games in the neighborhood to go home and watch the latest episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", which featured a visit from a character that Madison likes, one named Jiaying.
And though it's not exactly said that this all takes place in China, the LEGO game puts Jiaying's sanctuary in that part of the world, so we'll say we were in China just because. Anyway, it was a great visit, another fun episode this series. We've been really enjoying it, all up there in the guest room watching things off the antenna.
Afterwards, we were reading the next few chapters of "Diggers," which is drawing to a close. It's been so good though. The girls are loving it though, as am I. We'll be finishing up this second book probably by Friday, and it goes without saying that we'll complete the trilogy soon, reading "Wings" next.
We prayed tonight, and we were ready for sleep tonight, especially me, as I've been a little under the weather lately.
