I love these mornings on a cruise. We woke up later on and as always, I head up to the deck - just one level - and go to the nearby drinks area to make Mom some tea. And here we are at one of my favorite parts of the cruise, this long slow ride approaching Nassau, the starboard side not facing the sun so that it's nice and relaxing and cool and just perfectly pleasant. Mom and I sat and enjoyed a cup of tea here before starting on our day. I had plans to go see Spider-man this morning for Maddie, but amazingly the line at 8am was already pretty long. Still I snapped some photos of the area on the way back to the cabin.
Mom and I did this slide last time we were on the boat. It's the slide from one floor to the kids area below.
I came back to the cabin, and we watched from there as the Wish pulled into the port at Nassau. We had a mission in Nassau, to go and get some turtles for Maddie, and send a post card too. But not much else - the rest of our day was going to be spent right there enjoying the Disney Wish!
We had our breakfast at 1923, a restaurant themed to the year that Disney Pictures began, and all the animation that followed. Mom and I sat in this wonderful spot, right there surrounded by all these animation cells and maquettes, plus cloth samples and all kinds of art. Super cool stuff!
We did get off the boat for about a half hour or so, just a quick return to the outdoor shopping area there right there nearby.
Walking around a bit, we found several nice little places to look around in, and then we also found a small shop where we spotted those turtles Maddie likes to collect. Oh, and this morning I wrote a post card... so we got a stamp on it and...
Mission accomplished! It was super hot out there, and sure enough, we were done with Nassau for the day. We were pretty much set on staying on the boat for the day anyway, as there's so much to do. For example... there's Star Wars Trivia!
This was our spot at the Keg & Compass - Mom and I sat here with about nine or ten other groups for an advanced Star Wars trivia session that was insane! These questions were bonkers, and absolutely tough. Somehow Mom and I were able to get enough of them right. We were laughing at some of these questions - all of us - at how ridiculous some were. And at the end, we were stunned: Mom and I won!
Pretty cool, right? Here's another thing we went to afterwards - to see a movie at the Wonderland Cinema. We were wanting to watch something to go along with the Halloween on the High Seas theme, and it was pretty awesome to see "Hocus Pocus" on the big screen for the first time!
It was really cool getting to relax and see a movie, and then afterwards, we went up to the Cove Cafe.
How nice it was to chill for a while up at the coffee shop on board. One cool thing we had was our Cove Cafe card, one of those cards where each order at the coffee shop gets a mark, and six marks later, you get a free coffee. Maddie and I used this quite a bit the last cruise, in fact getting a free coffee on that cruise. And we built up enough on that cruise to use the card this time and get another free coffee! Look at the lattes we got!
Really nice. The barista there was fantastic, and the atmosphere just perfect. Super relaxing. Speaking of which, we sat outside on these comfy chairs for a while, overlooking Nassau:
And then why not go and try some more trivia. One of my favorite trivia games is the live music trivia, where there's a host and a guy on a keyboard playing snippets of all kinds of Disney songs.
This place was packed. We don't use our phones and I didn't want anyone to think we were looking at the phone for answers - so I didn't get any pictures of our trivia this weekend. This one was super fun, and there was so much energy in the room. Mom and I were doing really well, but there was a team behind us that was larger and seemed to know every singe answer. Still, when it came down to it, guess who won trivia again?
I couldn't believe it! We were doing really well at trivia today! Our stateroom host was pretty impressed at our haul, as were a few other people we'd run into from time to time on the cruise - they were asking if we were doing other games because I think they were wanting to team up with us!
Anyway, for lunch today, Mom and I were up on the deck for some lunch! We were up at Goofy's Grill getting Mom a cheeseburger and these amazing French fries. And while we were there, we picked up some of those legendary chicken tenders. After such a build-up, we had the bar fairly high. And you know something, they were actually pretty good!
And after getting something to eat, it was time to head back to the cabin for a bit. How relaxing! I was on the couch, reading and resting - Mom was taking a nap on the bed. Nice and quiet too - we got cleaned up, and then we were off to the theater again!
We sat upstairs in the balcony this time around, and it was a pretty good view of things up there. As for the production itself, it's a great version of the classic story. We saw this the last time we were on the Wish - it's a great play!
After the play we had some time to relax a bit. We visited with the Silent DJ Party for a while...
...and then we were outside watching the sun go down over the ocean waves. It was a nice view out there on the promenade.
This was a really nice part here. It was so quiet out there on the deck, and the weather was perfect and the view of the ocean just wonderful. This was super nice.
Oh, and why not do some shopping before going to dinner? We visited the gift shops on board, and we even picked up a nice shirt for Mom. And then it was time dinner!

| Hang in there, Joan! |
Tonight's meal was at Arendelle, which is really one of our favorite places on the boat. We were here the last time, and it's a celebration of Anna and Kristoff's engagement. There are songs, entertainment, and of course all the visits from Anna and Kristoff and even Olaf. There are all kinds of great bits of decor there - we sat nearby this shelf here with Elsa's gloves resting there.
And yes, we're dressed up like pirates for Pirate Night tonight onboard. I guess you could say we're here in Arrrendelle. Okay, bad joke.
So yes, it was Pirate Night. And this is something we've been seeing for quite some time. Tonight's show on the Disney Wish is more of a musical party with Jack Sparrow making the appearance at the end, doing his typical plunge off the funnel - on a line, of course. And he then gets the fireworks going - always a super cool thing in the middle of the seas. But look at our seating here:
We found these seats earlier, so comfortable, and just looking straight up at the fireworks when they began. Wow!
It was a great show! And there was one cool moment - waaaay off in the distance was another cruise ship that had the same thing going on. You could see waaaaay off some fireworks going off on that ship. The show was probably huge and amazing there... but to us it was super tiny. Really interesting perspective.
