Here we are at KidPak's new series, "Boot Camp!" You can see some of the actors above, including Dawn of course, who has been a tremendous help. We had a few great services this morning, with lots of laughs and some good messages and videos too. We've done variations of a "military-themed" series before, usually calling it "Call of Duty." This time we're returning to calling it "Boot Camp," which is what we first called it a really long time ago, maybe twenty years ago? I still have a few of our old booklets with that title on it. A lot of memories here. Next week we're doing an old skit I wrote for that, one that's twenty years old - I remember sitting and watching Gomer Pyle episodes so that I could write down as many good jokes as I could. And I remember loving the Sergeant Bilko episodes. Anyway, today we started up Boot Camp again, and we'll be back at it the next four weekends, and it's going to be fun for everyone.
Maddie was taking pictures as always, and here are just a few.
Maddie spent the day with Nate after church, and I stayed at the church with all the other staff members, helping out with a particularly important funeral service. Mom meanwhile was packing and getting things prepped. She cut her hair yesterday and added some new color to it, and when I got home it was my turn for a hair cut! We were sweeping up a lot of hair from the ground with a broom - and speaking of which, Mom was watching the Braves game this afternoon, ready for the sweep! The Braves won again - I watched the replay later on while we were getting things done around the house.
The broadcasters were talking about ice cream so much that I brought home a few Mickey bars, and that was a big hit tonight!
We read tonight, and we said our prayers. I was so tired after this - long day today. We went to sleep quickly!
