Vinyl Groot

One of the many vinyl records I got for Christmas was this Groot-shaped single which is a lot of fun.  But you might notice the new record player we just got.  It's a fantastic upgrade with a CD player, and even a cassette tape player.  I haven't played a cassette tape in ages, so if I can find one, it'll be great to try this out.  As you can imagine, we were listening to records quite a bit today.  The first one we listened to was the small record of the "Disney Electrical Parade," just for fun - although later on, I picked up at Goodwill a Monkees album, which was pretty awesome.  Basically while Maddie was at taekwondo again tonight, I ran over to Goodwill to drop a lot of things off.  And yeah, I picked up that album there.

Anyway, today was a pretty decent day.  I was honestly terrified of the dentist this morning, primarily because of the locations of the problems - teeth on the back of either side.  I've been in discomfort, and occasionally jarring pain, for maybe a year now.  So two days ago, we prayed about this, but I felt pretty hopeless about all of it.  This morning, things went well - so well, that I actually have hope again.  My teeth are pretty sore from the work, but things seem to be a bit better.  I'm exceedingly thankful right now, so glad to be okay.

Additionally, Mom is improving quite a bit!  Her primary symptom is fatigue, and that's much preferable to all the coughing and sputtering that I was doing.  She was sleeping on and off today, but the fever has been low to non-existent, and that's been a great relief.

Maddie and the team had a great night at taekwondo.  It was a fun night, and everyone's getting back in the swing of things.  Pretty soon, some - including Maddie - will be registering for a competition in Grovetown, the one we went to last year.  Today was a quiet day for Maddie though.  She was working on this big Star Wars puzzle that she got for Christmas.  It's been a longer process this one, but she's getting there!

The DeSantafication Process is moving forward, though a bit slower than usual.  I was glad to talk with some other parents at taekwondo tonight, and many of us are a bit slower getting all the Christmas decorations down this year.  All good though!

Tonight, we watched "Evan Almighty," a fun movie with the Noah's Ark theme.  We've all seen it before, but it's been a while, and during the fast, this is a great theme.  Oh, and speaking of themes, I was on that treadmill this morning, walking along from Tupelo to Memphis, finishing up "Easy Come, Easy Go."  Fun Elvis movie!  Next on deck is "Roustabout!"

It was a fun day.  The birds seemed to enjoy it too - here's a few pictures from our birdhouse camera.  It's been a pretty cool new toy!
