Community Center

Maddie and Mom made key lime pie today, and that's always good news.  Why did they do this?  Because Uncle George dropped by this evening, late.  It was a long traveling schedule for him, so we didn't do much.  It was just largely a lot of catching up and talking, particularly between he and Mom.  It was nice of them to sit together again, talking about all that's gone on the last few months since we've all seen each other.  Which, by the way, was in Florida.

So it was a quiet day today.  Maddie and I were playing our Battlefront game again, and that was fun.  We caught "the acrobat" today, a super crazy squirrel that kept knocking things down and climbing all over the place.  He was in the cage when I arrived, and he was barking at me.  Yes, some of these squirrels are pretty animated.  This one was loud and angry.  This is number seventy eight, by the way.  We hav 78 small squirrel stickers on the top of the cage now.  Pretty impressive quantity of squirrels in just a year.  We went on one of our "Squirrel Runs" today, transplanting him to another forested area with a creek right there.  He was still growling.  I joked with Mom and Maddie, "He's going to make lots of friends!"

After that, it's time for ice cream!  We went over to Dairy Queen, and got some Blizzards.  And I even got myself a Mr. Misty, something I haven't had in ages.  It was tasty!

At home, our sea monkey population is absolutely thriving.  I mean, the tank is filled with swirling sea monkeys.  I've been faithful with lots of oxygen and weekly food, and they seem to be really doing well on Mars.  Yes, we're still using that same tank.  Since Easter 2023, we've not changed out water or started over again or anything.  This is all the same continuation, a first generation lasting until around last Easter, and series of eggs and young sea monkeys, and now a new generation emerging.  Pretty awesome!

Today was a virtual day for Maddie, of course.  She was studying and catching up with homework, and then playing some games.  She was rather proud of the community center that she's fixed up in Stardew Valley.

It's good to have the Community Center up and running again, allowing folks to gather for celebrations and fun.  And maybe even some key lime pie.  Hopefully not too many angry squirrels.  But well done, Maddie!

Anyway, tonight we went to bed later.  Uncle George is here and we don't have school first thing in the morning.  But we did read tonight, and we said our prayers too.  It was a nice day.
