Last Day of Summer Break

It was the last day of Summer Break today, and we ended things with a whimper, rather than a Big Bang.  Seriously, the summer was such a huge spectacle of camps, one after the other.  It was so exciting that Madison was actually looking forward to a week or two like this one, where there wasn't anything on the schedule.  Part of this - a big part - may have been her desire to sleep in.  That's one we shared with her.  Sleeping in is not in any way overrated!

So today we got ready for school, collecting our materials and once again preparing for lunches and yes, going to sleep early tonight.  Daddy missed out on saying goodnight to Madison, as once again she was not at KidPak, although he was.  Not many kids were at church tonight, because there was the Hall County School System Open House for this very night.  Put that together with all the children like Madison who have to get up early in the morning, and you could see how things were pretty quiet at church tonight.  We had a great night with our small groups, one last time before all the kids move up one grade.  Daddy will see new kids next week, and Madison will be moving up to the fifth grade classrooms at school.  Again, she's growing up too fast!

Daddy made sure we did some things this morning before he went to school.  We left early and went down to play tennis for a while, and then cool off in the pool. It seemed like a great way to end the summer.  We both enjoyed it, as there weren't many people on the courts or in the pool.  Madison's swimming ability is getting better and better - she was able to get from one end of the pool to the other with the snorkel.  I'd say she's ready for Castaway Cay's lagoon!  It'll be here before you know it...
