Kicking Off a New Series

This morning we kicked off a new series, "Kung Pow!"  Of course, we did this series a few years ago when Madison was much younger.  The reason for doing this series again is because of Summer Xtreme, which is rapidly approaching.  Repeating a series helps us focus more on the quality of Summer Xtreme, which needs all the help it can get at the moment.

But the quality of this series is certainly going to be next level stuff.  For example, we had an incredible performance this morning from Edge ATA Karate.  They had eleven black belts on stage with bow staffs and nunchucks (doing illegal ninja moves from the government!).  Seriously, there were plenty of flying kicks and skirmishes with swords and strange blades that looked like raptor claws.  It was all set to exciting music with dry ice and special lighting - all with our brand new set as a backdrop.  It was exciting stuff for the kids!

Afterwards, Madison got to meet up with the gang, and even break a board out there in the lobby area.  She posed for a quick picture and did a karate pose afterwards, just like many other kids who got to meet up with the black belts.

Today's service focused on our first virtue, one on peace.  We looked at clips from "Kung Fu Panda 2," and did many other things in our service, including our ninja race.  That's the one where Daddy screams in Japanese the whole time - I have no memory of what it is I am screaming, but it is legit.  I just don't have a clue if I am pronouncing it the right way!

This afternoon we got home earlier than usual, as there wasn't any Español or meetings or anything to contend with.  The fact that we all woke up an hour earlier contributed to a strong desire to get some sleep.  So we rested.  We also watched an episode of "Lilo & Stitch," one about an experiment named Link.  He puts people together who disagree a lot, which might actually be handy around the church some time!

Madison did a LITTLE piano today, but did not finish up.  No rewards today, but hopefully we can wrap up tomorrow.

About that weather:  it was awesome today.  We've got rain due for the rest of the week, so it was one of those days to get out and enjoy.  But the big event of Sunday is always church, especially on a morning of a new series.
