Toybox

Madison came to church today as we started our new series, "Toybox." The entire set has a Toyland sort of feel, with a giant teddy bear (that you can see a little of on the picture above), and a tall soldier, and a jack-in-the-box. Or, at least a "Moondoggie-in-the-box." You see, all the toys above are misfits in some way. This is kind of the idea of our series, which started out last Wednesday with a bang.

Today we took a long winter's nap, after which it was time for play practice again - which is apparently all consuming. Seriously, we get home now - then eat, and then go to bed. We do our advent calendar, spend some time cuddling with a cup of sweetened soy milk, and head off to dream land (maybe dreaming of toys!).

Today's advent door revealed an angel - it was Gabriel, who told Mary she would have a child. This prompted Daddy to get out the glasses again, those specialized glasses that when you look through them, you see angels. Madison looked through these last year, and the result this year was the same: a big smile!

We'll have plenty of nights like this leading up to the Christmas play, but there are a few where we have the night off. Tomorrow, we're heading to Forsyth to see Doc Williams again. We'll probably drop by Parson's to see their Christmas stuff, and maybe get some outdoor Christmas lights for the house. I'll post a picture if we set them up, but maybe we'll go do something fun tomorrow night. Who knows?

As a teaser, Mommy discovered something really fun that I think we're doing sometime soon. Really different, and right up Mommy and Daddy's alley. Madison will love it though.
