Buc-ee's Advent

Today's visit from Santa Buc-ee was for some official Buc-ee's hand lotion!  So yes, it's like a Buc-ee's Advent Calendar downstairs, with a new Buc-ee's item there each morning.

The rest of the day was quiet, particularly because Mom was fairly sick to start out with.  That spoiled our plans to go to the Staff Christmas Party that we went to last year.  We even had new hats and everything.  Oh well.  Maddie was off to chapel this morning and it was the last one of the year.  

She went to eat at Wang's with a few friends afterwards, Chloe and Maddie.  And after that, her other friend Maddie came over to the house with her.  

The two spent the afternoon here catching up and doing a puzzle together, amongst other things.  They did this until it was time to get on the road and over to Edge Martial Arts.  Maddie and Team Edge had a performance there!

She did well, as did the rest of the team.  It's a short time out here each year on that Thursday - the team just does a quick performance and then they're on their way home.  

We got home and had a bite to eat, and after that it was time for another Christmas movie, "The Man Who Invented Christmas."  We watched "Mickey's Christmas Carol" after that, just to keep the theme going a little, but it was time for bed soon afterwards.  We read from "Hogfather," and then said our prayers... and now it's time to get a good night's sleep.

Mom is doing better, and that's good news. She should be good to go for tomorrow night, and that's a big night for Maddie.  In the meantime, here's a few photos of our Nativity set that's been out for a little while.  Looks good in there!
