Maddie got a visit from Santa Buc-ee this morning with a pretty nice gift: a new Buc-ee's t-shirt! It's from the Georgia location, and also included was this great Buc-ee's Christmas bag as well.
This afternoon we had our second annual Suno Christmas Song Contest, and it was a lot of fun talking about all the songs we created. There was even an award created for whoever got the best song - Camille wound up with the winner for the day, and her song was really really good, a duet with Joseph and Mary, and their prayer together asking for help. There were a lot of other fantastic entries too - this was a lot of fun! Maddie even had a song entered in the competition, one everyone liked too. This is such a fun tradition, a neat creative idea just before the holidays!
While at work, we've been moving forward on our Bug-themed booklet and series. Mom ordered some costuming for January, and I got a few more pages worked out. I actually hand drew that maze up there, something I used to do all the time in school when I doodled. I just created mazes for some reason. This one looks fun, an ant-farm complex.
I just started this virtual walk through China, and the schedule has been pretty busy lately so I'm off to a slow start. Still I got the post-card you see above, and I'll get back to a more regular schedule shortly. I'm walking along towards the Forbidden City, and as I do that on the treadmill (too cold outside right now!), I'm getting through the entire "Home Alone" series, a first for me - I'm determined to get through all six. Usually we do the first two, and maybe the third. The fourth is fairly awful, but I got through that one so I can finish the one I saw today, "Home Alone: The Holiday Heist."
All in all, it's a step up from "Home Alone 4." It's obviously made for television and certainly much lower on the budget. It wasn't too bad though. Some of the traps were inventive, and there's one genuinely funny phone conversation between a gamer friend and our main character's parents. Not sure how I feel about pushing older hobbling guys backwards down a flight of stairs though! Anyway, next up, the last and most recent "Home Alone" movie, and then I'll be done with the Home Alone movies for the season, and can finally say I've seen all six in one season.
The weather is cold outside, and that's appropriate for winter, isn't it? We had our family movie night tonight, watching "A Christmas Story" once again, before heading upstairs for reading, prayers, and a good night's rest. It's chilly out there, and the blankets are nice and warm!
