Living Room Tree

I got the living room tree finished tonight, which took a little longer than usual because of the busy weekend.  But it looks nice, and with the Nativity set also up in that room that makes for a complete area.  Next, on to the main event:  the big Christmas tree in the great room.  It's a wonderful thing pulling out these ornaments and having those associated memories with each one.  There are souvenir ornaments from various places, or there's the ornaments made by our family for the botanical gardens trees.  There are plenty more, of course, including many from Mom's past - little ornaments and big ones too.

Today's KidPak service went well.  You can see it's Veteran's Day tomorrow, so we were honoring one of our veterans, Mr. Dewey, who served in Vietnam.  He led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, and then I led the band in singing the Star Spangled Banner, which was actually pretty cool.  Maddie took a lot of good pictures today, and here are just a few from this morning's service.

We had a skit about the Helmet of Salvation that was pretty fun.  It was something new that I came up with, and it worked out well.  We had a solid morning at KidPak, with a great message that was tied somewhat to Veteran's Day as well.

Afterwards, we went to go see Nana at her house.  She seems to be doing much better right now, but yesterday's slip was very serious.  She'll be recovering the next few weeks, but spirits are up.  We sat and talked with them for a good bit, and then got home to have lunch.  Or dinner.  Regardless, it was a rotisserie chicken that we picked up at the grocery store on the way home.

Tonight's feature movies were both Christmas movies - a double feature!  We started out with the Nutcracker:  The Fourth Kingdom," and then moved on to "The Coat of Many Colors."  We're in the Christmas season now, knocking off all these Christmas movies one at a time!

We read tonight from "Wyrd Sisters," and we're approaching the end of that.  Afterwards, we did say our prayers, and we got the Plush Entourage tucked in for a good night's rest.  It was a full day, and a good one!
