Tonight was FCY again, and Maddie enjoyed the message - and the evening - quite a bit. She was talking about Pastor Hamilton's message afterwards, particularly one part where she and a few friends were playfully called out in the audience as the only ones to respond to a particular question. The evening went well, all part of a busy day. We were over with Nana today, and that was good, talking with her a while, although I've found an area or two that work really well for getting some writing done, and some graphic work done too for upcoming events at KidPak. It's been quite the juggle trying to get all this accomplished while fitting in these daily visits with Nana. Her spirits are up, but she can't get up. Each attempt at walking or otherwise results in a heart rate so elevated that it is thought she might not be able to walk anymore. With all the other issues going on, hospice care is on the horizon, and those details are being worked out now. We got her a Jamocha milkshake today, because I know she likes those. We used to swing by Arby's to pick those up frequently, sometimes while Maddie was doing taekwondo. Sadly, I can't do one of those at the moment, because I think I'm having lactose intolerance issues. We're still dong experiments. I'm not 100% at all right now, but I think the dairy issue is real, and then on top of that my treadmill issue is also troublesome. I need to get this all fixed up soon. Anyway, today was the last day of summer break for Maddie, and therefore she got to bed early. We read from our book, of course, and we played a level of "Luigi's Mansion 3," getting a little further in. We have a long ways to go at our pace, but it's been fun. We read from "Leia" and said our prayers to close out the summer, and of course we're now going to have to get back into the swing of things with the school schedule. But it's been a fun summer upon looking back. I miss going on massive trips, but we may do that again some day. In the meantime, our little vacations up to Pigeon Forge this summer were fun, and Maddie loved Forward, and the Summer Xtreme week we had. There was rank camp too. We squeezed all that into a few months, along with a few other mini-adventures, holidays and fun. It was a good summer. And it's still summer, of course. I have a personal vow to do some fun stuff in August while we can - hopefully we can squeeze a few things in there too. No sense in punishing August just because school starts!
