Tonight we returned to the Pearce Auditorium to see the Gainesville Ballet once again, our first trip back there in some time, but a good one as we had tickets to see "Peter Pan."
We sat in our usual spots in the front row of the balcony, and in some ways it was just like old times. Of course, Maddie wasn't on stage performing, instead seated beside us to watch the performance.
It was a really nice time. The performance was just the way I remember with various degrees of talent from all ages of dancers. The stand-out moments included a very fun Captain Hook and Tik-Tok the crocodile, which added a lot of humor to the stage. But there were a lot of "oohs" and "aahs" when Peter Pan flew in. I was not thinking they would do this, but Peter Pan's character was suspended on wiring, and sure enough soon after file in Tinkerbell. And later on, joining the flight were Wendy, John and Michael too, and too enough all of us were of to never Neverland!
We had a nice evening together, and it was all part of a pretty nice day that started out with the usual Team Edge practice in the morning. Maddie had some homework, and there were definitely some things to do with Easter and the production. Unfortunately, we've had a few setbacks there with costuming, but Mom was looking into some alternate plans, which might have us driving down to Sandy Springs again to visit a dance fashion warehouse once more.
In any event, we had a good day. We read, and we said our prayers. Tomorrow's going to be a good day too!
