It was a quiet Saturday here, and of course the family dynamic prevents us from doing too much really, but there was a lot to do still at the house, including the DeSantafication process. I got the piano room tree downstairs, and next will be the Star Wars tree. We'll have to take those wreaths down outside soon, as they are something everyone sees, but there are still others that have had their Christmas decorations out. I think January is just such a dull month that I'm glad to see the decorations lingering out there a little longer.
Speaking of lingering, what is up with these female bluebirds? They just sit there tapping at these windows all day, and I'm not entirely sure why. We set up this feeder on the window, and there are meal worms in it and everything, her favorite. Yet she disregards them because the attraction of what could be inside our house, I think. Perhaps a new place to build a nest could be just inside that window?
Anyway, we were doing a lot of set-up for Narnia again today, and that includes the costume making process. Maddie was doing homework while Mom, Nana and I swung by the church for a bit to set up scripts, put the images and videos in place on the drive, get props ready, get music set up, and just generally walk through things somewhat.
I did get my walking done today, listening to a podcast interview with Danny Elfman, which was actually pretty interesting. The walk along a beach in Maine was nice too, a POV video that accompanied my walk on the treadmill. The blood pressure is slightly up, but there's a lot going on lately, so hopefully I can manage that. I'm still taking a lot of pills each day, still walking.
Maddie was doing that homework again, but she was also playing games and watching videos. She was doing one game when she spotted David S. Pumpkins making a cameo!
It's not even Halloween, but it's always fun seeing him. And yes, completely random! Anyway, tonight we watched another episode of "The Chosen," followed by the latest episode of "National Treasure." Maddie's wearing her "Lester's Possum Park" shirt, which is hilarious, although it was initially meant for me. It was a Christmas gift that Santa made a mistake on the sizing for.
Nana is in the same state as she's been - we have to keep her mind busy, but the repeated questions and the short term memory lapses are alarming. Also new is a cough. We managed to keep her moving today, but it is a lot of work on Mom and myself, who have to keep her entertained. She won't just sit there and watch television. She's got to keep doing something with others, and constantly asking what she can do, which unfortunately is not much. When she doesn't have something she can do, she goes upstairs and goes back to sleep. So we have to really try to keep her busy, but it's tough coming up with stuff she can do, and it's pretty time consuming.
Regardless of all that, we got some things done today, and closed things out reading from the latest Narnia devotional that was written by Joey, Camille and myself. After that, we read from "Interesting Times," said our prayers, and got off to sleep at a reasonable hour. We have an early morning tomorrow, and a big day!
