It's the Holiday Season

Ah, the new gingerbread house kit arrived!  This is a tradition of one of the elf visits, where he brings a new kit for us to create, although time is pretty limited this year.  We'll have to find a time to do it.  Today we had Team Edge practice in the morning - they're winding down on practice time, and things are getting more intense and structured.  But it's coming together, and the team looks great together, synchronized and ready for their production, for the most part!  I won't get to see it, but I know they'll do well.

We were filling out Christmas cards today, and also putting all the Christmas shelf decorations on too.  It was a big movie marathon going on while we were doing all that, plus Mom was making her traditional Christmas Crack, the delicious holiday treat that everyone asks for each year.

Tonight we went over to Dahlonega to see a friend and neighbor perform at the Holly Theater, but we got there early to walk around Dahlonega and look at all the Christmas lights.

It was nice.  The weather was rainy in the morning, but the temperature was okay outside - just extremely foggy later on.  I mean, wow.  I haven't seen it this foggy in a long time.  It felt like a perilous journey home.  As for the play itself, it was good - it was called "She Loves Me," and neither of us had seen it before.  It's a romantic comedy that takes place in a department store just before Christmas time, one where deeply romantic pen pals are about to meet for the first time, unbeknownst to them the fact that they already know each other in person and don't have the greatest working relationship.

Anyway, it was fun.  We had our seats up there, front row of the balcony, and it's been a lot of fun going to the Holly lately.  I really want to go in February to see another one, and then in July, whereas our usual destination, the GTA, hasn't offered as much for us to see lately. We're glad to get out and support the local theater, and there are some great productions out there to see.

We got home late, driving slowly through the thickest fog I think I've seen in years.  It was late, but we still read, and we said our prayers of course.  We've got a big day tomorrow with the return to Narnia.  It's going to be a great morning!
