We played mini-golf at The Oaks tonight. It was fun, despite two of us being eaten alive by swarms of ravenous mosquitos. The course is a familiar one, and in fact I got three hole-in-ones tonight. Maddie did really well too, getting better and better with her game. Still a few moments of impatience, but she's certainly getting better with her skills with the golf club. At least in regards to putting. The weather was threatening rain, but it never really materialized on us tonight, so the end result was a cooler sort of temperature outside, which coupled with the shady location made for a more comfortable experience. We moved from hole to hole tonight, and although there were others there playing as well, it wasn't so crowded that we couldn't enjoy it.
Afterwards, we went over to Wang's for some Chinese food, and this was our first time actually eating there in person at the restaurant, as for the past few years we've done strictly take-out. It was super nice sitting down to eat there. We got three dinners, egg rolls, won ton soup, and of course fortune cookies too. It was just nice sitting there together, and we like this restaurant enough to call it our "home" Chinese restaurant, our "go-to" whenever we're hankering for Chinese. It used to be others that we were regulars going to, but over time, management changed or for whatever reason, we just didn't find the quality what it used to be. Which is why we're at Wang's now, in any event.
Being Tuesday, there was no event for Maddie tonight - no taekwondo, no church, no nothing! So we filled the time well with these activities, a sort of farewell party to the summer break. It was nice. We got home, and we read from our book some more, and then we said our prayers too. One more day of summer break tomorrow, and I'm sure it will be a nice and relaxing one.
