Snow Dusting

Our house got a slight dusting, which is exactly what was advertised.  You can see the white sprinkles up there on the roof, adding to the atmosphere of the Christmas decorations.  But it was super cold this morning, that's for sure.

Just inside, it appears as if Jingle Bell has returned!  It's December 1st, and that means there's our elf friend, and he appears to have an Armitron robot arm there with him, holding an Advent calendar.  Madison has this one here now, which of course has chocolate behind every window each day.  She's also got the Star Wars Advent calendar upstairs, which has inside each window a new LEGO object to assemble.  It's got a great collection of stuff this year.  Finally, there are the links hanging from the wall, the ones she makes every year, each one a number counting down to the big day.  Each one has a mini candy cane too, so she has lots of sweets leading up to Christmas.

We did a lot of filming today, and it was fun.  There was one competition where our contestants were trying to build the best gingerbread house they could under a certain amount of time.  There were random penalties and events though, and these created havoc for the contest.  In the end, only two gingerbread houses stood, and they only sort of stood!  It was fun though.

I helped film that one, but I was a contestant in another one, a game that will appear in two weeks as part of our "Tribes Christmas."  It was a full afternoon of filming!

Madison had her taekwondo, and she's going to be testing shortly for round two of three towards getting the black belt.  She's focused and really disciplined.  Nana and Mommy were there for that to see.  Madison has a lot of tests and quizzes this week, in Spanish, Science and Algebra too.  It's a busy week for her, so as soon as she got home, she was doing some homework and studying too.

We read from Tribes Christmas tonight, the devotional, and we prayed.  It was a good day, although I'm still not feeling great.  Nana was okay today, and I know the stress on Mom has been a lot lately.  We're praying.  December will get better - there's nowhere to go but up.
