Guitar Heroes

We actually haven't had a chance to play our guitar game yet, but we did have time to pose with the guitars outside.  We were going for a ZZ Top sort of look here, minus the beards.  It's more about the car with flames on it.  Yeah, we've got style.

Today after school was piano, which is getting more and more complicated - we definitely have to keep up with that practice.  Even Daddy is starting to get challenged, although Madison seems to pick up chords very easily.  Today we were learning about A minor, and a bit more about rhythm.  Madison did well in class, especially with some of the cross-over exercises.  She loves that class!

It's the first day of October, which means we'd better hurry up and get things decorated, right?  Mommy put the pumpkins outside and the scarecrow too.  We've got new mulch down, and the front porch looks pretty nice, actually.  The driveway you see above?  Tomorrow we'll have that cleaned with a pressure washer (that, the sidewalk and the back area behind the house too, the one below the porch).  Mommy intends to do a bit of refreshing on the paint on the porch, so the front area will be looking nice and sharp this month.

We returned to Texas Roadhouse tonight, where Madison had a metric ton of peanuts - it was "Kids Night," which meant she got her meal for .99 cents.  We didn't know it was "Kids Night," but that was a pleasant surprise.  Daddy had a great steak, and got to hear the song he pressed on the jukebox - "The Dukes of Hazzard" theme song.  Yep, that makes for a great occasion, doesn't it?  Reminds me of every time I'd go to Waffle House with the other guys - we'd always pop some change into the jukebox to hear "I Walk the Line" or Elvis' "Patriotic Melody."  Madison had a good time too, as did Mommy, who seems to be doing well lately.  Her diet has been very strict, but she's been feeling no pain for a few weeks now.  This is something to be so thankful for!

The guitars you see above are part of an old game called "Guitar Praise."  I'm desperately hoping that's something I can set up on these computers, but the game is pretty old.  Hopefully the two are compatible, as the hope is to use them in a service upcoming, one that has to do with the whole "Guitar Hero" phenomena that happened a few years ago.  Daddy got caught up in that with his friends.  Daddy was nowhere near as good as some of the best, but we always had a good time with that game.  This version has music you can play in church, and music we don't mind Madison being exposed to.  Hopefully, we can get it all working, as it is a great way to improve her skills with rhythm.  Rock on!
